Factories: Complete Guide!

Factories are an exciting new way to produce premium goods for your businesses, which when used will provide a higher payout. Please see the following guide for everything you need to know about this great new feature. Please note that you have to be at least level 13 before this feature is unlocked.
Click on the icon to see the quest requirements. You will find your new factory in your inventory. Please note that it must be connected to a road (or a sidewalk). You will need 10 energy to build it.

In order to finish construction on your factory you’ll need the right materials!

Ask your friends for the materials you need, which are also available on the free gifts page. Optionally, you may also purchase the required materials using City Cash. *Please note that not everyone will have the same materials on their free gifts page. Once you have finished building your factory you will notice your regular goods bar replaced with a double bar; the top one is for premium goods (you will have 1000 storage for these), the one on the bottom is for regular goods (storage for these will remain the same).

You can also now click on the factory to start producing premium goods. When you click on the factory you will see 5 different jobs to select from; each varying in length and goods produced.

Please keep in mind that your factory can only handle one job at a time, so once you select one you will have to wait until it’s finished before selecting another (similar to trains). Once you have selected a job you will have the option to recruit your friends for help; you will receive bonus premium goods for each friend that responds. Optionally, you can also hire temporary workers using City Cash.

*Note: If you do not invite any friends, or if none of the friends invited respond, you will still receive the minimum goods payout for that job. Please keep in mind that you cannot hire each friend for more than one(1) job per day and that workers hired with City Cash will only be used for that job. Once your premium goods are ready to collect you will see an indicator above your factory; clicking on it will produce premium goods and add them to your premium goods bar.

Now that you have premium goods you can supply your businesses with them to get a higher payout. When you supply businesses your premium goods will be used first, when you run out of those your regular goods will be used instead.
Other Notes :
  • You will still use regular goods when supplying franchises and using trains.
  • When supplying businesses your premium goods will be used first.
  • If you ever delete your factory it will go back into your inventory (if it’s currently producing goods you will see a warning pop-up first). The factory will have to be rebuilt after being deleted.
  • Currently, there is no way to expand storage for premium goods; however, please keep in mind that this is a new feature and future improvements are always possible.
  • Goods from factories will not wither/spoil.
  • Producing premium goods with factories is a great way to get the most out of your businesses!
